Visual Literacy: "Elements and Setting Up Your Shots" Film Assignment

In groups, we were tasked with creating our own original 3-5 minute film. The guidelines were to use as many basic cinematic techniques from class as we could. Additionally, we had to incorporate other aspects such as elements of design, critical judgements, concepts/content and emotions. Lastly, each group had to blindy choose a film genre, a famous line of dialogue and one commonplace object. I felt this assignment was one of the most challenging in this class. We had one week to create and edit this film.

Our genre was Comedy, our famous line of dialogue was, "Houston, we have a problem" and our commonplace object was keys. See if you can identify these aspects in the film.

Below are two version of my group's film. The first version is the official product which we presented to our classmates. The second version shows the different cinematic and elements we used in each scene. Enjoy!
